Nestling in the lush Lamorna Valley, only 10 minutes' walk from spectacular Lamorna Cove, these two warm and very comfortable cottages enjoy a tranquil, secluded setting among bluebell woods. Hidden down a track, they have been converted from a barn once used by Sir Alfred Munnings as his painting studio and stables. Surrounded by woods and bordered by a stream, The Stennack enjoys a sheltered position within spacious grounds, and is a real sun trap. Lamorna Valley, one of the few wooded valleys on the Lands End Peninsular, and its pretty winding lanes, streams and waterfalls have attracted artists for many years. The cove was quarried for granite in the 19th-century, and the small harbor from which it was shipped around the world reveals a small, sandy beach at low tide. Within the surrounding area is a vast array of activities and attractions to suit all tastes. In addition to walks along the coastal paths, to the east is Mousehole and to the west is Land's End, and there are many sandy beaches and excellent surfing spots where the Atlantic tosses huge rollers from its depths. A little way down the coast from The Stennack is quiet Penberth Cove - attracting fishermen and artists alike, it has been described by many as the most perfect of Cornish fishing coves! Livelier attractions await in Penzance, where seaside attractions include an aquarium, indoor and outdoor swimming-pools, boat trips (for fishing for shark and eel) and diving trips. Newlyn, Sennan and the Minack Outdoor Theatre are all within an eight-mile drive, and a hotel and local pub are just a few minutes' stroll away.
