This superb house is set in a prime position in the pretty, medieval village of Dunster, just a stone's throw from the castle (NT). Amidst a breathtaking setting which inspired the hymn All Things Bright and Beautiful, it provides romantic accommodation - each room boasts wonderful furnishings, and there is some splendid artwork on show. Its impressive `Armada' bedroom has beams made from ships wrecked during the Spanish Armada. Adjoining the owners' home, and complete with croquet lawn, The High House offers a timeless country house atmosphere. Ex moor is on the doorstep, with the beaches at Blue Anchor, Dunster and Minehead all nearby. The coastline's stunning scenery, cliffs, woods and moorland, make this area a walkers' paradise. It is set amidst an area rich in red deer, heather and clean air, with many pretty villages to charm - pony-trekking is available. Dunster offers guests many choices of pubs and restaurants, there are some interesting shops and a pottery. Minehead (2 miles) provides visitors with all the amenities of a modern seaside resort, from golf to a steam railway.
